Ingredients:
Ash Gourd- 1 kg cut into bite sized pieces
Salt
Raw rice- 1 tsp
Grated coconut- 1 cup
Tamarind- marble sized
Roasted red chillies- 8
Mustard seeds- 3 tsp + 2 tsp
Curry leaves
Method :
Boil ash gourd in water for 15 mins till it becomes soft. Add salt. Keep aside.
Saute raw rice till it changes colour. This may take 2 mins. Keep aside
Grind coconut, tamarind, Chillies, 3 tsp mustard seeds and the sauteed raw rice into a coarse paste.
Add this paste to the boiled ash gourd and bring it to a boil.
Heat oil in a small pan. Add 2 tsp mustard and curry leaves. When it begins to splutter and it to the curry.
