Enchilada Sauce


I followed this recipe from Gimmesomeoven and it was too good and super spicy. You can play with the quantity of red chilli powder and adjust it according to your spice tolerance. This sauce can be stored in an air tight container in a refrigerator and should be consumed within one week.

Ingredients :

  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp maida
  • 4 Tbsp chilli powder 
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 2 cups water
Method:



Heat Oil in a small sauce pan



Add flour and stir together for one minute. 


Add in the chilli powder, garlic powder, salt, cumin powder and oregano. 
Then gradually add in the water, whisking constantly to remove lumps. Reduce heat and simmer 10-15 minutes until thick.
