Vegetable Momos


Ingredients:
   For the outer covering:
      Half cup maida
      2 tbsp oil
      Water to knead dough
      Salt


   For the Filling:
      2 chopped onions
      5 cloves of garlic chopped
      1 inch ginger chopped
      1/4 cup chopped cabbage
      1/4 cup chopped carrot
      2 tsp oil
      Salt
      2 tsp soy sauce
      1 tsp vinegar

Method:

  • Knead a soft dough using maida, water, oil and salt.
  • Cover with a cling film or wet cloth and keep aside for 10 mins.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Saute chopped garlic, chopped ginger till garlic changes colour. 
  • Add chopped onions and fry for a minute. 
  • Add chopped cabbage, chopped carrot and saute for a minute. 
  • Add soy sauce, vinegar and salt to taste. Mix well. 
  • Remove from flame and allow to cool.
  • Roll the dough and divide into equal portions.
  • Roll each portion and make circles 6-10 cm across.
  • Place 1 tbsp filling in the middle of each circle and wet the edges. Pleat the edges. 
  • Place the momos on a plate smeared with oil. Steam it for about 20 mins and serve with tomato ketchup
