Ingredients:
For the outer covering:
Half cup maida
2 tbsp oil
Water to knead dough
Salt
For the Filling:
2 chopped onions
5 cloves of garlic chopped
1 inch ginger chopped
1/4 cup chopped cabbage
1/4 cup chopped carrot
2 tsp oil
Salt
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp vinegar
Method:
- Knead a soft dough using maida, water, oil and salt.
- Cover with a cling film or wet cloth and keep aside for 10 mins.
- Heat oil in a pan. Saute chopped garlic, chopped ginger till garlic changes colour.
- Add chopped onions and fry for a minute.
- Add chopped cabbage, chopped carrot and saute for a minute.
- Add soy sauce, vinegar and salt to taste. Mix well.
- Remove from flame and allow to cool.
- Roll the dough and divide into equal portions.
- Roll each portion and make circles 6-10 cm across.
- Place 1 tbsp filling in the middle of each circle and wet the edges. Pleat the edges.
- Place the momos on a plate smeared with oil. Steam it for about 20 mins and serve with tomato ketchup
