Ingredients:
For the dough:
1 cup maida
2 tsp hot oil
1 pinch of turmeric powder
1 tsp sugar
Water to knead the dough
For the filling:
1/4 cup ghee
1 cup fine rawa
1.5 cup hot water
2 cups sugar
Half tsp cardamom powder
Pinch of yellow food colour
Oil to deep fry
Method:
- Make a soft dough using maida, oil, turmeric powder and sugar. Cover with a damp cloth and Keep aside for half an hour
- Heat ghee in a pan. Add fine rawa and fry till you get a nice aroma.
- Add boiling water and mix well.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder and a pinch of yellow food colour. Mix well. Allow it to cool. The mixture will harden.
- Divide dough and the filling into 10 parts.
- Roll the dough into a poori. Place the filling in the centre. Seal the edges. Roll again into a thick poori.
- Deep fry till golden.
