Ingredients :
For Marination :
15 prawns
Salt to taste
Half tsp turmeric powder
For the Masala:
3 green chillies
Half bunch coriander leaves
Half inch piece of ginger
6 cloves of garlic
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
Half tsp turmeric powder
4 cloves
Small piece of cinnamon
Other ingredients :
2 onions sliced
3 tbsp ghee
1 large tomato chopped
2 cups basmati rice
3 cups water
Salt to taste
Method :
- Wash prawns and marinate with salt and turmeric powder for an hour.
- Grind green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, cloves and cinnamon. Make a fine paste
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add sliced onions and saute.
- Add chopped tomato and fry.
- Add the prawns, the green masala and fry till tomatoes become mushy.
- Add basmati rice and water and salt if necessary. Pressure cook for 10 mins or 3 whistles
