Poha Chivda


Ingredients:

3 cups thin Poha
Half cup peanuts
Half cup roasted chana dal
4 tbsp oil
2 tsp mustard seeds
2 finely chopped green chillies
2 sprigs curry leaves
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp asafoetida
2 tsp turmeric powder
Sugar to taste

Method:

  • Dry roast Poha until it turns crisp. Do not mix with spoon as the poha tends to break. Just keep tossing the pan. Remove on a dry plate and let it cool. 
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan and shallow fry the peanuts and roasted chana dal one by one, Drain on a paper towel. Keep aside
  • In the same oil add the mustard seeds. When it begins to crackle, add curry leaves and green chillies and fry till curry leaves becomes crisp. 
  • Now add salt, turmeric powder, asafoetida and sugar and mix well. Now add the roasted poha and toss till it incorporates. Let it cool completely. Transfer to an air tight container and enjoy it with a cup of tea or coffee
