Murgh Kaali Mirch Masala


Ingredients :

    For the marination:
       1 kg chicken
        2 tsp ginger garlic paste
        2 tsp crushed pepper corns 
        2 tsp cumin powder
        1 tsp garam masala powder 
        Salt to taste 
        2 tbsp hung curd
   Ingredients to make a paste:
        3/4 cup cashews
        1 medium onion
   Other ingredients :
        3 tsp oil
        2 medium sized onions finely chopped
        2 tsp chopped ginger
        2 green chillies finely chopped
        1 tsp garam masala powder
        1 tsp cumin powder
        1 tsp pepper powder
        3 tsp crushed kasoori methi
        Salt to taste
        Coriander leaves to garnish

Method:
  • Marinate the chicken with the ingredients mentioned under 'Marination'. Keep in the refrigerator for 3 hours. Grill it in the oven or fry it on a tawa. Keep aside
  • Boil cashews with the onion. Make a paste.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Fry ginger and chopped green chillies. 
  • Then add chopped onions and fry till it becomes pink. 
  • Add the cashew+onion paste and fry till it becomes dry (for 7-8 mins).
  • Now Add garam masala powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, crushed kasoori methi and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil. 
  • Add the grilled chicken pieces, salt if necessary. Cook for 5-7 mins. Garnish with coriander leaves
