Bellappa with Tomato Fry


Bellappa 

Ingredients :

2 cups Dosa rice
1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
1 cup Grated Coconut
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda

Method:

Soak dosa rice and fenugreek seeds for 4-5 hrs. Grind it with grated coconut. Allow it to ferment overnight.
Add salt, sugar and baking soda in the morning. Batter should be little thick. 
Make dosas in a deep bottomed kadai. Fry on one side only


Tomato Fry


Ingredients:

1 tsp oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 sprig curry leaves
2 chopped onion
2 slit green chiliies
3 finely chopped tomatoes
2 tsp sambhar powder
2 tsp red chilli powder
a generous pinch of hing
2 tsp grated jaggery
salt to taste

Method :

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When they begin to splutter, add few curry leaves and chopped onions. Add  green chillies. Fry till onions turn slightly brown. Add the chopped tomatoes and fry till it becomes mushy. Add sambhar pdr, red chilli pdr, hing, jaggery and salt. Add water if required. Fry nicely for 4-5 mins.
