Ingredients
1/2 cup moong dal
1/2 cup ghee
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups water
Crushed cardamom- 3 pods
Saffron few strands
Cashews and almonds
Method
Soak moong dal for 3-4 hrs and grind it with very little water. Heat ghee in a non stick kadai. Add the paste and fry on a medium flame till the mixture turns brown. This may take 15 mins. Keep stirring to avoid burning.
Heat sugar with water for till it comes to a boil. Add cardamom and saffron.
Add the sugar solution to the moong dal mixture and cover and cook on a low flame till the mixture becomes thick. Garnish with almonds and cashews
