Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup Maida
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 stick or Half cup or 8 tbsp butter cut into small pieces
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
2 green chillies
1 inch of ginger
1.5 tsp cumin seeds
1.5 tsp whole peppercorns
3 tbsp coriander leaves
3 tbsp yoghurt
Method:
- Coarsely Grind green chillies, ginger, cumin seeds, peppercorns and coriander leaves with 1 tbsp water. Keep aside
- Mix maida and butter with your fingers till it resembles bread crumbs.
- Add baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar and the ground paste and mix well.
- Now add yoghurt a teaspoon at a time and knead till it forms a dough. If it sticks to your hand then you may add 1 or 2 teaspoon of maida.
- Wrap the dough in a cling film and refrigerate it for half an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 180C or 350 F for 10 minutes
- Sprinkle some maida on a kitchen platform and roll the dough to 3 mm thickness.
- Now cut it into desired shape and arrange on a baking tray. Bake the biscuits for 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and allow it to cool completely and then store it in air tight container
