This recipe is from my Facebook friend Aparna Kamath
Ingredients:
6 Bread slices (white or brown)
1 cup fine Rava
3/4 cup Rice flour
3/4 cup Yoghurt
1 Onion finely chopped
2 Green chillies chopped
1 Red chilli
Half inch piece Ginger grated
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Udad dal
Salt to taste
Oil
Method:
- Remove the crust from the bread pieces. Soak them in water and remove squeezing out all the water.
- Make a paste with the rava, rice flour and yoghurt.
- Grind this in the mixer along with the red chilli and keep aside.
- Heat some oil in a pan and season with the mustard seeds and udad dal.
- Add the onions, green chillies and ginger and fry until the onions are transparent.
- Add this to the bread rava mixture along with salt. Add water to make it into a spreading consistency.
- Heat a tava and spread a ladleful of the batter on it. Add a little oil and cook on both sides until nicely brown.
- Serve with chutney.
