This is a simple chicken gravy which goes really well with plain Basmati rice, dosa, idli and Appam
Ingredients:
To be roasted and ground to a fine paste:
Bunch of coriander leaves
Half bunch of mint leaves
10 garlic flakes
A small piece of cinnamon
1 big chopped onion
1 tsp turmeric powder
3-4 green chillies
2 kashmiri red chillies
1 tomato
1 tsp ghee
Other ingredients:
1 kg chicken cut into medium pieces
2 tsp ghee or oil
1 sprig curry leaves
1 small onion chopped
1 capsicum cut into cubes
Salt
2 tsp crushed kasoori methi
Coriander leaves to garnish
Method:
- Heat ghee in a kadai and roast all the ingredients mentioned under to be roasted. Let it cool and then grind it into a smooth paste,
- Heat ghee in another kadai, Add curry leaves and chopped onion. Saute for sometime.
- Add the capsicum and salt and fry for a while.
- Now Add the ground masala and the chicken and enough water. Cover and cook till chicken is done. Add crushed kasoori methi. Mix well and garnish with coriander leaves
